Welcome to my view of the Heavens

Ever since I was a young lad living in the Yorkshire Dales I have spent many an hour gazing up into the night sky and dreaming of what was out there and as I get older I found myself thinking more and more about how it got there and where was it all going. I also ponder on the thought that no matter how much humans think they can control their own destiny in the not too distant future the earth and indeed our entire solar system will no longer exist.

Anyway, in early 2005, in my quest for knowledge I bought myself a telescope and from the room with a view started gazing into the night sky.

The following pages try to go a little way to explaining some of the things I had to learn on this particular voyage of discovery. You will also find some of the fruits of my labours in the form of photos and movies. Astrophotograph has completely caught my imagination and I hope to add better and better content over the years....
